The Journalism BA and MA programmes at the University of Roehampton provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the media industry. Both programmes offer modules combining theory and practice, taught in multimedia newsrooms. Journalism students learn how to write news and features, create and edit magazines, and produce multimedia packages, while critically examining industry trends and professional practices, and the role the news media play in our society. Some, but by no means all, of the best work they have produced this year will be presented here.
The showcase brings together students’ work from several modules covering different forms of journalism: the BA’s Magazine Journalism and Production, and Audio-Visual Journalism, and the MA’s Digital Reportage. The selected works include virtual interactive magazines, podcasts, audio-visual packages, interactive maps and galleries.
